So here we go. This is it. 2 weeks of shooting (around 1700 files every day) and countless hours of editing. This is the video that will be shown at the Nyumbani fund raising gala in 2 days. I want to thank everyone who I encountered at Nyumbani. Especially Jeff and Tomi Browne, Sister Julie, Sister Mary Owens, Andrew Dixon Mungai and all of the volunteers. It was an amazing experience and the bond I felt after 1 week at the Village and 1 week at the Home is huge. I will never forget it. I know I have only scratched the surface and there are many many more stories to tell at this amazing place. please click the full screen button to the right as this is a small window on the blog.
Awesome job Shamus!!! Well worth the wait.
From Deborah’s shifting eyes at the beginning to the washing song at the end, you captured the love and nurturing at Nyumbani while showing us why its important to continue the work there. That was the fastest 15 minutes I’ve spent in a long time because the narrative and photography was so good. Shamus, you are a natural storyteller. it’s outstanding.

Wow! That’s truly great! You should be very proud, I know I am!
Absolutely Awesome, Shamus.
There arent even words to say how proud we are of you and your work Shay……
Hey Shamus… Tomi just sent me the link
Mzuri sana.
finally I get to see the evidence of what kept you at Nyumbani. Awesome
ha, thanks. Yep I would have loved to see more of Kenya, but Nyumbani is hard to leave.
Hey. I can’t get this to play past 4:57. I maximized the screen and it slowed it down, then minimized it, and it keeps getting stuck between 4:50 – 5:00.
What I saw was amazing (the kids on the Razrs was great). Now I’m really feeling guilty I didn’t see it when first posted.
What gives?

Another beautifully photographed and edited story by Shamus.
From the ” one day old ” beginning of a child in the Home to the vibrant collective life of the kids, this story transports me to Africa to share this experience with you.
Thank you.
Tin
